This document was produced by UKAAF and RNIB. At the time of publication, the original Sign Design Guide was out of print, but is now available again in an updated version from the Sign Design Society.
The present document was created to fill in gaps over a time span of around twenty years, and is worth consulting if for no other reason than pointing to additional resources.
It has an Introduction and then sections on:
- Directory boards and braille
- Directional signs
- Arrows
- Braille:
- Sizes for letters, symbols, braille and embossed characters;
- Unified English Braille;
- Dimensions for braille;
- Distance between dots.
The References section contains details of organisations that can provide additional help.
