The UK Association for Accessible Formats (UKAAF) is fully committed to respecting the privacy of all personal information received through this website. Whether you contact us to register as a member, or access the members’ area, we will only use your personal information to deliver the information you have requested. We will use the information to let you know about progress and developments achieved by UKAAF. If we are required to make any changes to the way we use your personal information we will ask for your consent before we do so. All the information we have about members’ is controlled by the Data Protection Act 1998. We are only allowed to keep the information we need to maintain contact with you, and for our financial records. It is all kept securely and access to it is strictly controlled. Types of Information we Collect.We collect quantitative data through general Web logs but this contains only aggregate information on the pages accessed by visitors. Individual data is captured by Web forms, for instance when registering as a member, or as a member accessing the members’ area and requests for information. We do not share or sell personal information for any purpose with third parties without consent and users may request not to receive emails at any time by contacting us. When members leave UKAAF we destroy the information about your membership, and keep other information only as long as necessary for accounting and audit purposes. CookiesThis website uses cookies solely for the purpose of identifying those who contact us and to provide secure personalised access. UKAAF uses Google Analytics to gather, store and collate information about website visitors. It tells us how many unique visitors have been to a site, what pages they visited in what order and for how long. The service only reports on aggregate visitor data in anonymous form and does not collect personal information like addresses, names, or credit card numbers. For example, if users fill in personal details on a web site using Google Analytics, that data is not collected by or reported on by Google Analytics. Google has stated that Analytics set a "high bar" amongst its competitors for privacy protection and noted that UK data protection watchdog the Information Commissioner's Office use the system on its own site.
